WELCOME

Welcome to the New Mexico Property & Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association (“NMPCIGA”) Web site. We hope that you find this site helpful in providing information regarding the purpose of the NMPCIGA and how it protects New Mexico policyholders and claimants in the event of a property and casualty insurance company insolvency.

WHO ARE WE?

The NMPCIGA, a non-profit statutory entity created and governed by NMSA 1978, §§ 59A-43-1 et seq. (1984)., is the property and casualty insurance guaranty association for the State of New Mexico. The association is composed of most insurance companies licensed to sell property and casualty insurance in NM.

WHAT DO WE DO?

In the event that a member insurer is deemed insolvent and is ordered to be liquidated by a court, NM state law enables the NMPCIGA to provide protection up to the limits specified by state law to certain NM-based policyholders and claimants who are holders of property and casualty insurance policies issued by the insolvent member insurer.
